Escaping Reality

Exploring the Greek Underworld.  Stealing a portion of IGN's beginning, the ancient Greek myth of Sisyphus, a not-so poor should condemned to push a massive boulder uphill for eternity, without rest; Allowed to leave once the boulder reaches the top, but would always fall back down, no matter what he tried. Twisting the tale of Sisyphus, what if you battle your way out of the Greek Underworld, fighting hordes of enemies, and gaining boons of the Olympians, and the Cthonic Gods? What about if you forever evolved, and forge relationships with companions you meet along your escape? That, quite frankly, is Supergiant's Hades premise. Summed up in a sentence, a dungeon-crawler, roguelike, sprinkled with Greek mythology.  Do I See the Gateway to the Overworld? Unlike most dungeon crawler, and roguelike games which don't really focus on the story, Supergiant has done otherwise. Without looking into it too much, the story of Hades seems rather simple. The game puts you in the shoes...

Pushing the Limits of an 'Isekai' Game

A New Wonder  miHoYo's Genshin Impact, is one of the hottest games this year. Originally launched on the 28th of September, the game had reached over 12 million players around the day of the launch solely on PC- But also available on Mobile, the PlayStation, but sadly not the Xbox. Set in the mystical realm of 'Tevyat', Genshin Impact is clearly inspired by Nintendo EPD's Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; From the anime-esque art style, the open-world puzzles, or even the stamina based traversal (Gliding, Sprinting, or Swimming). While there is no denying the similarities, Genshin Impact is in a league of it's own- building on Breath of the Wild's flaws. Plus it's free (for the most part).     Having played the game for over 350+ hours, making it one of my most played games, if not my most played- It is absolutely filled to the brim with content to say the least. Unlike most other games I've watched gameplay of, or played Genshin Impact adopts a ...

A Western Haven

The Wild West I've played open-world games as far back as when I first got my console, a little over 5 years ago. From the ancient wonders of Greece, in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, to the mystical realm of Tevyat, in Genshin Impact. Red Dead Redemption 2, is a thrilling tale of brotherhood, loyalty, and infamy. Set in pre-industrialized America, with vast open wilds for you to explore, and the evolving civilizations and towns sprinkled over the 5 states- New Hanover, Lemoyne, Ambarino, West Elizabeth, and New Austin.  Rockstar Games, has outdone itself once again, arguably the best game they've ever developed, and it shows for it. Having developed for over 8 years Red Dead is filled to the absolute brim with action-packed content; spanning between 50-60 hours in playtime, just to finish the story, and almost 120 hours if not more, to earn that sweet 100%.  The Greatest Open-World Map.  The title isn't an understatement. Red Dead Redemption 2's world, is a haven, that...
